Where I Stand

hey everyone, i want you all to know how fast tomorrow is going to go. before you know it, we will be meeting up at church for TBC SKI TRIP '05!! i can't even believe it's tomorrow, i mean think about it. 10 hours of chillaxing with the coolest people ever, getting settled into our suites, hot tub, the slopes, the mountains, the fresh air. wow, it's going to be a great gettaway.

well sad times at tryouts today. we did some drills, fancy footwork, and a little scrimmaging. sounds like a typical day of soccer practice that from now on i'll be doing on JV. tryouts are basically over, not officailly, but basically. after our water break, McGuines (sp) busts out her list, and starts calling the superstars over to her. "and the rest of you.... go over there." i expected it, so i'm not really upset or anything. b/c soccer is definately more of a hobby for me, not a passion. i mean obviously i'd like to be mia hamm, but i don't feel like working at it. it's not worth my time. but today is the annual day of the year that i question my decision not to enhance my abilities. (indoor soccer, kicking around at home, those are the types that make varsity)

*the reason i play soccer*
for love of the game, the competition, the comradery, the feeling i get about once a week during practice...(this is the only way i can put it into words, 'this is what it's all about, life is good'), the laughs, the struggles, the triumphs, enjoying the springtime, spring wouldn't be spring to me without soccer, i guess it gives me a high, it makes me truely happy.

in a way i wouldn't want to be on varsity. i wouldn't want to lose all of that. b/c once you're on varsity & they actually pay attention to the win/loss record....it just isn't the same. i realize that sounds sappy, it sounds like i've never won anything before in my life and i'm trying to make myself feel better about being a loser, but i'm being totally honest. my point is, i mean, i'm not trying to say "just have fun," i'm trying to say you lose something, you lose the innocence of carelessness. in practice i don't have to focuss directly on my form for 2 hours, i get to experience the earth God created for me to enjoy. "catechism #1- Man's chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever." wow, yea that was what i wanted to get across. when i play soccer, that's what i feel, i'm just enjoying life.

ps~~~only 15 hours till we hit the road!

I really am jealous of you skiing people. it sadden me to think of the opportunity i will undoubtedly be missing. but, i will hold things down here. in my ADD sort of way, mind you. but i look forward to the stories you will provide to me in English, while, speaking of which, you will need to work on your take home test.. ok, so that wasnt very nice to bring up and i do apologize. that just isnt enough for me to take it back though. talk to you in the morning! 14 hours now!

When did you have to learn the Catechisms? Or are you like me and only know the first one :)? anywho, soccer is good times...you'll have to get us a schedule of your games. Does JV usually play right before varsity, or is it at a totally different location? 16 hours 11 minutes til scheduled departure!

4 hours 35 minutes staci, you really should keep your audience up to date! lol, sorry i wasnt really there today, hopefully there wasnt ne thing pertinent. i hope you stick with soccer, it can be soo much fun, and i know you are good enough to play varsity and even if you dont start there you can always end up there, and that can be your main goal. but either way, do what you think is best for your time.
