Surreal

You said something to me once.
It wasn't meant for me;
it should have been.
'I'm so tired, I don't even feel like I'm here.'
I smile as I study your face.

The words came out of your mouth,
do you honestly believe them.
That your drowsiness has somehow created
this surreal existence
that you have wondered upon.

Suddenly it is just you and I, no excapes.
I relax as your downward gaze assures me
that you are not discomforted by my presence.
Rather, you are unaware that I am the source.
As the seconds tick on like minutes,
I search your face for some life.

Sorrow overwhelms me.
You won't let it sink in.
You refuse to give into the surreality of it all.
As you go through the motions,
I search for someone who understands.

the run down

i guess now that i am sufficiently rested, i can give y'all the run down. oh i make myself laugh..."y'all" that phrase was used all too often in tennessee. mainly by the white water guides. well, about 3 o'clock sunday afternoon, i hesitantly packed up for the power trip. we got to the church to find many junior highers, aaand clinton, adam, hobie, todd, myself & the interns. before we left, i almost got manipulated into sitting with a very talkative girl i'd never met before....she sure acted like she knew me though. i'll be honest, i was scared, so naturally i told her i was going to sit with my mom because she didn't know anyone. score. eventually we hit the road.

we stopped and did the disperse & be back in a half hour bit for dinner. by this time i'd decided that this trip was going smooth and i was enjoying myself. from there on out, i had a blast, really it was sweet. so back on the rolling motel, we (me, todd, hobie, lana barnes, & baruch) played some mafia, 99, b.s., tx hold em, and e.r.k. it was a lot of fun and the ride passed a lot quicker than i'd expected. night time was rough...let me tell you, these were no sleeper busses. so people were sprawled out in the aisles. got to love it.

about 10 am, we got to the white water rafting HQ. there we split up into 2 groups and played some physical mind games. lots of fun! by the way, all this time it was a comfortable 80 degrees out. so finally it was time to hit the rapids. yessssss. hmm, so on the bus ride to the river, the temperature dropped about 20 degrees and it started thundering, lightening, raining, the works. did that stop us? heck no, nothing stops the power trip! so that was amazing. it was really cold at first (like it was frigid, people were shivering) but once were were paddling for our lives, things warmed up. my guide kyle was pretty darn cool, i can still hear it, "all forward yall, all forward! dig in deep for me now. alright! take a break." then we hit the showers, nice. anyhow, rafting was awesome! let's move on. all forward now...

dinner that night was fabulous. fizzoli's fast food italian, doesn't get much better than that. then about 10 of us had a hand stand contest in the parking lot. i'll just say devin brown won by a landslide. 1, 2, skip a few, 10 hours later we're at micky D's for breakfast. ugh, grodie. then about 9 am we arrive at 6 flags. 12 hours of it. mr. freeze was the first ride i rode, the 35 seconds of 70 mph velocity was a fabulous way to start off the day. after that we made the mistake of going on escalibar, a sicknasty spinning, twirling, nasiating ride. yea i felt pretty sick & nasty after that. then to seal the deal we went on the boss, basically the worst wooden roller coaster ever created. after that adventure we saw a group of about 10 of our guys (doug and company), so me todd, lana, & hobie wound down on the carousel while they were on the boss. so after that we chilled with them for the rest of the day. highlight of the day, definately the water part area. playing around in the kiddy place. they had one of those huge buckets that drops water about ever 5 minutes, that felt great. so the up tight life guards kicked us out 4 times because we didn't have swimming suits or something...eh. but yes 6 flags was a blast as well.

dinner time rolled around, the whole group trecked across the street to mcdonnalds...aaagain. todd & i weren't digging it, so we split a bag of powdered doughnuts and some milk. let me tell you, nothing has ever tasted that good. for the first time in ages (it seemed) i got to eat exactly what i wanted. also mcdonalds had lost all appeal by the third visit in 2 days. afterwards we spent our last hour of fun on mr. freeze, and then left. showered at a camp ground and headed home. played 99, watched the emperor's new groove, and i was out. home at 5 am, awake at 1 pm wednesday. i think i've finally caught up on my sleep. weeell 9 more hours wouldn't hurt. goodnight.
*shout outs*

not your average power trip

well when i think about power trips i think about annoying people who like to have their way. i.e. when hitch said, 'come over here and let me hop on wich you,' i'm pretty sure sarah didn't know she was in for a little power trip display. eventually hitch solved the matter by kicking her off of the jet ski entirely. go figure. well anyhow, this power trip is a little different, so i hear. apparently it is a real trip...you just don't stop anywhere....ever, hence the power part of the deal. i am anxious. being as it was initially a junior high power trip. and uh, we'll see. so we get back wednesday morning at 5 a.m. outrageous, i know, trust me. if nothing else, i will have some new material to blog about when i return, right? oh yea.

summer relationships

MichyDeMeo: you havent posted since friday. get to it
MichyDeMeo: write something inspiring
staci1093: something deep?
staci1093: i'll think about it
staci1093: give me a topic, i'll go wild
MichyDeMeo: i ate a giant red candle today
staci1093: no
staci1093: make it something i can work with like relationships or summer
MichyDeMeo: how about summer relationships
staci1093: hmm

summer is a funny thing. relationships are even funnier. not funny persay...indescribable. picture school. the halls, the masses, the shouting, the humidity, the dreary sound of mr. zientera's abnormally forced joy in history class. summer is like a whole new world. it's so freeing. so much time to do whatever strikes you. the full trees, lush grass, blue sky, warm breeze, and the time! it's so abundant, until you're really enjoying yourself, then it vanishes into thin air. look at it this way, if we were in school we wouldn't even have half of the freedom that we do now. 12:30 pm is 2 & 1/2 hours better than 10:00 pm, is it not?

relationships are always...well glamorous. but summer relationships, come on! does it get any better? it does. time. blast this incurable disease. there just isn't enough of it. when both parties are free, that is. like i said, summer makes everything better, even regret. regret, you may be wondering. regretting the time you wasted blogging perhaps. but then you think to yourself, at least i don't have to wake up at 6:20 am for school. what i mean is that, summer gives us the illusion that there will be other days, more time. its ok to believe that, but seriously its already been like 3 weeks! tempus fugit, that's all i'm saying. ah yes, so relationships in summa time..(does anyone remember when they sing that in will smith's 'get in jiggy with it'? or is it just stuck in my head?) well suddenly the fact that i never really had a road map for this post is catching up with me. so uh, the lesson for today is: enjoy your company, especially in these 3 months of summer time.
*the real lesson is: update your blogs, even if you don't have anything to say

AESTIVUS GESTIO

craziness. well this is the first time i've had time to blog in forever it seems like, so i'll give it a go. AG...this is definatley the best year of summer sizzle i have ever been to. i think it's mainly because we're seniors. hehehe, i love it. crandall always says it best, "did you see that? that's called respect!" it's so true, you can tell all the little tykes look up to you. so as the respected senior that i am, it was my duty to stand on a stage and shave a balloon, ah yes and down a 2 liter of warm Barq's. good times. dude that root beer burned! well i was just reminissing over the week and i don't know where to go, so i'll start on monday.

monday was worlds of fun, literally. in the morning we played some knockout, then crandall & i showed those kids how to shave a balloon. lots of drama over tickets & rides and such for WOF but it worked out (thanks suz.) so we trapsed around hitting the mamba, cyclone sam, spinning dragons, detonator, fury of the nile, the usual. ah yes, i went through a little initiation for the lightening bug club. well worth it, lol. the ride back was so fun. people mover!! ahh, susanna & i held it down for the girls. bright city lights, cool dark breeze, and matchbox 20 accompanied by 20 high schoolers. that ride really made me look forward to summer blast...memories.

tuesday was cici's and scavenger hunt. seniors dominated as usual. dodgeball... "if you can dodge a wrench, then you can dodge a ball!" i apparently cannot dodge a ball, or a wrench for that matter. we passed out a bunch of flyers for the outreach, wow it was hot out. hmm i don't know why i can't remember anything else that happened during the morning, but cici's was great. hahaha...pirates of the carribean. good movie, did you like it nathan?

wednesday was the parking lot outreach. wow, lauren took me ooout in that big blow up dodge ball game. i was doing great until the end when i was prancing out and suddenly lauren sacks me to the ground. haha, i got her back during the 'balance while you pound each other game.' fabulous worship time and talk after that. then to starbucks with some awesomely refreshing kids. quite a few staring contests and who could forget 'the GaY'? heh heh. congdons afterward for some amazing cookie dough and 'apples & apples'...the game. that game was the coolest. i am "brilliant, awkward, and luxurious" i won those with 'picking your nose', 'at my parents' house', and 'the mafia'. classic. how could jaq have ditched my 'top of a roller coaster' as 'unforgetable'?!

thursday T & i guzzled some beer heavy on the root. we should've won but eh, we got cheated. oh my the bike ride was great. todd's race bike was sweet. i still beat him. lauren and i got some massive air on those speed bumps. uuh, lots of good times. oh yea, tag was unforgetable. bike tag that is. so then there was that crazy old movie with audrie hepburn. haha, still cracking me up. so then i got back to the passport to find that i'd forgotten to lock it when i put my bike away, and my phone was gone. no joke, stolen right out from under me. i'm majorly bummed. and a little lost and confused.

today i will be heading to the church in a couple hours for the pull-up game, jack & zake singing, and some lake shawnee later.

hmm

ahhh W.O.F. tomorrow! yessssss. it's going to be a blast. speaking of which....summer blast. wooooohooooooo! TBC summer activities, glorious. well i just finished watching spider man on tbs. "with great power comes great responsibility." word to the wise right there. hmm it's been a good day. just good, but not bad at all. an hour of tanning, an hour of napping, an hour of video games, an hou...oooh 10 minutes of reading, walmart, and barbeque on the grill. oh wow and ashton's mis-hap. it was horrendous. we were all eating our baked potatoes when BOoOM waaaaaaaaaaahhh!!! all 4 of us race to the guest room (where ashton was sleeping) to find him face up on the floor. he'd fallen off the bed in his sleep. my heart was pounding so fast, i thought he was going to have a concussion or brain damage or something....buuuut apparently he's fine and dandy. thank you God. what a day.

C^3 rocks the hizzy

lol, wow today has been an awesomely long day!! i'm going to blog about it all basically because i want to relive it. so this might not be that fun to read, i'll just be rambling.

allright my day began by alarm at 10 in the a.m. signs of the times: when your alarm isn't what wakes you up, it's the spasmic pains shooting up your back on the way to hit the snooze your cell phone. yes it was pleasant. i decided that since i was fully awake i would just get ready to go. my grandma and i had plans to hang at 11:30. so i went to her house and we ate at panara. we then made the treck to westridge lanes where we played 2 neck & neck games of bowling. first off i creamed her with a 117 (she got a 94.) second game she got a 143, and i got a 130. although i did get played by my grandma, we both improved. about 1:30 we met shayla back at grams house with some frosties. they were fabulous. so as the date with my grandma was winding down, i called freeze to tell her that elena & i had been talking and we thought today was the perfect day for a C cubed reunion. luckily we caught her on a down day (when her grandparents weren't in town) so she was game. we realized that my grandma lives about a block away from the freeze residence, so eventually, after being completely punk'd by laura (andrea's sister who sounds exactly like andrea), i picked freeze up and we called elena. she informed us that she got off work in a half hour. so we hit my grandma's again. :) we challenged shayla and gram to a few exhausting rounds of blitz....and then off to pick up elena.

let the games begin! we went to sonic to relive some soccer memories. corndogs!!!! ahhh so good. we concluded that corn dogs always taste better after a long day of school; they just taste like they belong in the summer. corn dogs are pretty much the flavor of summer, one among many. we then made our way to the goodwill where we found some fabulous buys....'manny, moe, & jack'....heh heh. after that faaabulous adventure we then cruised in the 'Lude for a bit, brainstorming all of the fabulous things we could do. i loved it man, just to be with people knowing that what you do, when you do it, and where you're at doesn't matter. that is chillaxin' to the max right there. we stopped at dillons to pick up mean girls since neither of my better thirds??? had seen it. on the way to my house we stopped at lake shawnee. we sat on one of the docks out there, it was awesome, that's one of the coolest places ever. haha, eventually we coaxed andrea into putting her feet in.

once we got to my house we jumped on the trampoline, swung on the hammock, finally got our video camera up and running....a little late, but better than never. so we chilled out in my drive way scootering around, shooting hoops and such (videotaping all along). finally we started watching mean girls, always hilarious. took a little intermission, made an all too irrisistable stair slide and....wow. hahaha freeze's legs bent backwords over her head, elena is a little dare devil (she completely rolled down totally on purpose on her side), and me, i took andrea's move all the way and flipped that was a little painful, but worth it of course. so i just took the girls home about an hour ago. i just want to say thanks C^3 that reunion was long overdue.
