on the bright side...

school isn't quite as gruesome anymore. i think i can pinpoint the transformation to thursday. that's when i realized that there are about 7 of us 'spares' on drumline. i felt a lot better knowing that not everyone knows how to march or play every song perfectly. so thursday we just got to chill for an hour & a half in the sun on the sidelines of the football field. luckily we had 'trojan time' right after that class too. so andrew and i crandalled it over to lola's for some coffee. (yes i did just use his name as a verb, be amazed) anyhow, that was nice. it felt like summertime. interesting how free will is associated with a season of the year.

then i high-tailed it to keyboarding class, where i type at an incredible 60 wpm for the entire hour. i've decided that looking at a computer screen non-stop for a rediculous amount of time is very bad for your health. i get very restless. i have to force myself to take breaks, as difficult as it is to tear myself away from ainsworth keypad. i mean its insane. there's no pause button on the program! you finish one 4 minute drill and another one pops up instantly. yea it really does bother me that much. ah yes, after zoology (5th hour) that day, i could've sworn that school was over. it was crazy. i was packing up and everything. then i realized i still had an entirely blah hour of jewelry to sit through. it wasn't all that bad though. it was actually fun. anne & i screwed up these pennies with all the jewelry hammers and stuff. they look awesome. so then, CC practice. eh. but i went with jacq to the soccer game afterward. i totally got in free, it was amazing. i was like, "hi mrs. larsen, oh, its staci miller...uh yea the problem is i only have a dollar and fifty-five cents. of course, i'll bring it next time." smooth operator. then we hit the cross country dinner. what a hoot. pasta salad is the business. man those girls are hilarious. saying craziness like, "we all think she's on crack." or "i don't see why everyone's so uptight about the rocks..." awesome.

friday was hectic man. i got my band uniform before school, my band shoes after school, and everything in between is a blur. that night was the 1st football game. i looked like a complete nerd in my uniform, but i'm ok with that because i tore it up. i got to play some snare. i didn't know the music, because its a mess & i haven't gotten any yet, but i caught on. i had a lot of fun. i was driving home, and i was like, wow, that was a blast. drums rock.

saturday morning came entirely too early. we had our first cross country meet in manhattan. i was more nervous than i've been since, eh probably sophmore year when i was last at a meet. i made it through the 2 mile in 15:17. that might seem decent, but in CC terms, its pretty lame. well i think it was good enough to make me the 7th man on varsity next week, but we'll see. then we went to the manhattan mall for lunch. oh my, that was crazy. i got dragged into ordering a pizza with 4 other kids. and it took them 35 minutes to make it. so we had to watch everyone eat at the mall, then we ate on the bus. i fell asleep on the ride home. talked with jacqueline for a bit once we got home, then i took a 3 hour nap. it was amazing. that was probably the first nap i've ever enjoyed. once i woke up.. eh rewind... once shayla called and woke me up, i went to her apartment and watched the wedding date. went home and slept some more, woke up and went to church. lunch, then some softball. good times. cleaned my room, showered, and here i am. time to relax.
***one more thing. apparently i stirred up some confusion with my last post. when i said, 'cory cracks fat jokes about elise in government,' i failed to mention that elise is no where near fat. she's flat out perfect. i didn't point that out then, b/c i figured everyone who reads my blog knows that elise is a stud, and that's what makes the jokes funny. that's all. *** have a great labor day!!
